Session of the Event: How the Foundry can disrupt the IT Landscape of large enterprises

The Foundry has an immense scope of functionality for analytics application building. It ranges from simple point-and-click tools to full-code frameworks.

Having then all (or large portions) of the corporate data available in the Foundry and enabling all employees to build their own analyses and tools are the ingredients for a creative explosion.

Engineers have usually some IT-development skills and providing them with a platform that enables them to transform their knowledge into working solutions can unlock the tremendous development capacity and creativity available.

Kai Altstaedt illustrates how the Skywise Platform has been set up in Airbus and the effect it had on the Airbus Tool Landscape. But where light is, there is darkness as well. Effects like an increased Shadow IT, the borderline between the ERP and Analytics area and the struggle with resource consumption are discussed.
