    Introduction

    Firmenich is the world’s largest privately-owned developer and manufacturer of perfumes and flavors. Founded in Geneva, Switzerland, in 1895, the company has since led innovations in the science of the senses. In 2022, they reached CHF 4.7 billion Net Revenue.

    The fragrances developed by the company touch the senses of more than 4 billion people every day.

    In 2018, the company launched its d-lab to create focus on improving flavor and fragrance creation through Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML). This novel transformation earned Firmenich the Digital Innovation of the Year award three years later.
